Sagittal (16A) and coronal (16B) fat-suppressed T2-weighted images of the ankle in a 55-year-old male with lateral foot pain demonstrates moderate tendinosis of the distal peroneus brevis tendon (arrowheads) with surrounding edema. There is also mildly increased signal and thickening of the lateral cord of the plantar aponeurosis (arrow) near the insertion on the plantar lateral aspect of the fifth metatarsal base consistent with accompanying lateral cord insertional fasciopathy.
