Akash Garg, M.D., is a fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologist with extensive experience in diagnostic imaging, physician leadership, and musculoskeletal imaging. Prior to joining Radsource, he practiced at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, part of Endeavor Health, where he served as Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Imaging, Vice Chair of Radiology, and a shareholder of Elmhurst Radiologists, S.C. In these leadership roles, Dr. Garg was actively involved in clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, physician collaboration, and the continued advancement of musculoskeletal imaging services.
Dr. Garg completed fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic after completing his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the same institution. He completed his transitional internship at Akron City Hospital and earned his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Garg received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics through the Honors Medical Program at the Illinois Institute of Technology, graduating with honors and earning Dean’s List recognition throughout his undergraduate education.
An accomplished educator and scholar, Dr. Garg received the Commendation for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations focused on musculoskeletal imaging, MRI, ultrasound, and orthopedic radiology. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is an active member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology.
Outside of radiology, Dr. Garg enjoys coaching his son’s T-ball team, spending time with his family, and training for Sprint triathlons every August.
