Travis Hillen, M.D., is an accomplished musculoskeletal radiologist and a prolific contributor to academic radiology. Prior to joining Radsource, Dr. Hillen served on the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.

Dr. Hillen earned his undergraduate degree from Blackburn University in Carlinville, IL. He obtained a master’s degree in pharmacology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he also earned his medical degree and completed an internship in internal medicine. Dr. Hillen completed his radiology residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital – Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, and was selected as Chief Resident during his final year. After residency, he completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Mallinckrodt and went on to become a highly respected faculty member, earning numerous committee appointments and a Teacher of the Year Award in 2018.

Dr. Hillen has contributed numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, articles, book chapters, and presentations to the field of musculoskeletal radiology, with a research interest in bone and soft issue tumors. He is a member of several professional societies and organizations, including the Radiologic Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Skeletal Radiology.

When not working, he enjoys camping and traveling with his wife and 4 kids, coaching his kids in sports, and spending time with his 6 brothers on the family farm.
