Leland Y. Tsao obtained his bachelor’s degree with distinction from the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar and graduated in three years. He then attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine – Medical College of Virginia (MCV) for his Medical School training, where he received numerous academic awards and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in his 3rd year. Dr. Tsao completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota before pursuing his Diagnostic Radiology training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then performed a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University Medical Center.
Following fellowship training, Dr. Tsao accepted a position with a large private practice in Nashville, Tennessee, a position he held for over nine years, serving in both clinical and executive capacities. During this time, he developed a large following in the orthopaedic community, where his clinical abilities and commitment to service were highly valued. Dr. Tsao has contributed numerous chapters, articles, and exhibits in the field of musculoskeletal radiology and magnetic resonance imaging.
In his spare time, Dr. Tsao enjoys traveling and playing the guitar.
